Jiyoung Hwang

Jiyoung Hwang is a globally recognized biotechnology executive, venture investor, and strategic advisor with more than 25 years of experience evaluating, financing, and scaling innovative life sciences companies.

Throughout her career, she has led investments, strategic partnerships, licensing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border capital markets initiatives spanning the United States, Asia, and Europe. She has held executive and board leadership positions at both private and publicly traded biotechnology companies, including serving as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, Director, and President. Her experience includes transactions involving NASDAQ-listed companies, KOSDAQ IPOs, pharmaceutical licensing agreements, and corporate restructurings.

Prior to joining ARMR Sciences, Ms. Hwang led biotechnology investment and business development initiatives at organizations including EY, Allvest, CBI, Exicure (NASDAQ), Neoplux, Intervest, Hyundai Venture Investment, and the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. Across her investment career, she has evaluated hundreds of biotechnology companies and directed investments totaling more than $90 million across therapeutics, vaccines, immunology, diagnostics, and healthcare technologies. She has also advised multiple biotechnology companies on global expansion, valuation strategy, fundraising, and commercialization.

In addition to her industry leadership, Ms. Hwang serves as a member of numerous Korean government evaluation committees supporting innovation, biotechnology commercialization, and national R&D initiatives, including programs within the Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea Health Industry Development Institute, and related agencies.

Ms. Hwang earned her B.S. in Life Science from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), graduating first in her class with highest honors, and completed graduate studies in Environmental Management at Seoul National University.
